Straw Wattles
Straw Wattles are an innovative product suitable for multiple applications, primarily silt prevention and erosion control.
They are manufactured from weed free agricultural straw contained within a bespoke, fine gauge, woven net tube - making the wattles, light, strong and extremely flexible.
As an agricultural by-product, wheat straw only has two main potential uses, animal bedding and more recently, as a fuel for power stations.
The benefits of wheat straw are that it can be locally sourced, therefore reducing transportation requirements to a minimum and also offering the additional benefits of soil fertilisation from the wattles decomposition.
With a biodegradable figure in excess of 99.5%, straw wattles are considered as highly environmentally friendly.
Straw Wattles are available in various lengths, the standard being 3m & 6m lengths - with custom lengths also an option.
Packed in a coil form, straw wattles are stackable for transportation, and weighing less than 3kg per metre, are easy to handle on site.
