The Hy-Tex Rock GX range of geogrids are made from high tenacity polyester yarns with a protective polymeric coating. The key features of Rock GX geogrids are their excellent long-term high tensile strengths, low creep characteristics and flexibility. This makes Rock G the ideal, economic and safe solution for applications where non-cohesive, coarse grained soils require reinforcement.
Reinforcement of soil by incorporating layers of high strength material is a well established construction technique, and Rock GX geogrids are used in a variety of such applications, including: steep slopes, bridge abutments, structures and embankments over soft ground, noise bunds, block wall systems, landfill lining and capping layers, rail track and road bases and foundations.
Rock GX geogrids are much more flexible that extruded grids. This results in easier handling, and better interlocking with the soil material - as the mesh can adapt to irregularities of the fill/subgrade, which results in the optimum composite system.
Due to the flexible structure of Rock GX, it can withstand the typical high installation stresses occurring during installation far better than stiff extruded geogrids.
Rock GX consists of stretched high tenacity polyester (PET) yarns which ensure a much lower creep tendency that other products (especially polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) grids).
